So what will 2023 look like for you? Fresh start? A new beginning? Or maybe you’re continuing some good habits that you created in 2022?

For me, 2023 is the year of consistency, focus and vulnerability. I plan on making more videos around my weekly process as a creator, photographer and father. So far, I’ve had a blast making videos on YouTube. There’s something about the platform that really pushes your creativity. I also enjoy its street photography community and it’s how I’ve met so many of you.

In 2023, you can also expect a lot more black & white imagery, especially on film, and finally getting my personal projects off the ground. But enough about that, let’s get into some things I’ve been absorbing and exploring to help kickstart the new year!

Chasing FOG!

Documenting two nights of some legendary fog!

You ever pick up a book, love it, start reading it then put it down just to never pick it up again? I think the Audible App is my next investment. Nonetheless, I’m once again halfway through Gordon Parks’ “A Choice of Weapons”. I don’t know how I put this book down the first time. It’s hard to articulate Mr. Parks’ genius. He did so many things so well. He had the ability to will himself to greatness through, determination, self-confidence, and good old-fashioned hard work. These skills and character traits were clearly what kept him alive as a young teenager trying to find himself.

Seeking motivation in the New Year may sound cliche but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. When you have some time, take in this YouTube interview of a brilliant thinker, Simon Sinek, hosted by Steven Bartlett of “Diary of a CEO”. He attempts to break down why you’re not succeeding… I can’t tell you how many times he was not wrong!

To keep my mind bending and stretching in new ways outside of my safe zone, I looked to Neil deGrasse Tyson and his fascinating podcast StarTalk. His special guest on this particular episode was Yuval Noah Harari. He had me rewinding his thoughts and theories for the whole 45 min. Take in this goodness.

Alright my friends, let 2023 be the year of growth for you. Start small or start big but please just start.
