My Macallan x Harry Rosen Experience
The Macallan GOLD Highland Single Malt Whiskey
There's a first time for everything. For me it was experiencing Scotch whiskey. But not just any Scotch, The Macallan 1824 Series, a sophisticated collection of four core expressions – Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby.
This past week I was invited to Harry Rosen to experience The Macallan Lounge, an interactive and luxurious pop up inside First Canadian Place. Building off of last year's successful partnership The Macallan and Harry Rosen have once again created a unique space for their clients and guests to taste The Macallan 1824 Series while shopping for classic and modern pieces by Harry Rosen. On Monday, November 16th through Thursday, November 20th you'll have an opportunity to experience the Macallan lounge.
The Macallan 1824 Series
Two characteristics that stood out for me, how smooth the whiskey actually feels in your mouth and the rich colours that occur naturally from the Spanish Sherry-seasoned oak casks. I was able to sample five distinct Single Malt's by The Macallan including Gold, Amber, Ruby, Sienna and their newest and most exclusive "Rare Cast". Remember, this was my first ever Scotch tasting so it took a little getting use to. I now feel I have a much better understanding of scents, flavours, tastes.
I thought the Maccallan lounge was set up beautifully with comfy chairs in close proximity to many of Harry Rosen's best brands. Custom suit fittings, quality customer care all while sipping on your Macallan? Why not?
If you have a chance, stop by and experience Maccallan lounge between November 16th to November 20th inside Harry Rosen.

Brimz - Made in Canada Fall 2015 Look Book
The Audrey fedora by Brimz - Made in Canada
Last week I headed down to Cherry Beach with the @brimzofficial team and our two models to shoot the Fall/15 look book. Brimz Hat Boutique carries some of the best fedoras and local street wear brands in the city.
Brimz just released their Made in Canada Fedora Collection- a line of six different fedora styles all designed and manufactured right here in Canada. The pieces were inspired by our country's iconic Autumn season. For our fur felt fedoras we used a warm, earth tone palette highlighted by whisky, olive, burgundy, tan, black, grey.
For the shoot, I chose two perspectives, nature and the streets. We found a great parking lot on King St. West that really gave off a vintage, street feel reminiscent of downtown Toronto in the 60's. Cherry beach worked out perfectly as our nature backdrop. Here are some captures from a fun afternoon of shooting.
Big thanks to our models Sergio & Jade for rocking the hats so lovely. Also to @ShanikT for the great video he put together in such a small window!
Enjoy,

I am Taha Noor Muharuma
Photo: Jonny Daring
My name is Taha Noor Muharuma and I am creative human being.
My mother is white, Canadian, Irish decent. My late father is black, from Tanzania. I have a brother and two beautiful sisters. I grew up in East York but now live downtown with one of the greatest to ever do it @livfully. I’m the Social & Brand Manager for @brimzofficial, a cozy, Toronto hat shop that specializes in #fedoras and local street wear. I’ve been teaching mobile photography to kids, 8-14 years old at The Study Academy for the past 3 years. Through Instagram and other social platforms I’ve been fortunate enough to work with many brands as an Influencer, Brand Ambassador and Curator. I love what I do!
I also love comedy, I love making people laugh. I love kids, working with likeminded, talented, positive people. I love fashion, history, Jazz and Indian food! But most of all I love breaking out of the boxes I have created for myself. I say all this because I want to share more of what I'm passionate about, what I do and what I WANT to do in the future. At times I think I forget that this is my feed, my work, my life!
So here’s to slowly exposing myself, I encourage you to try it some time.

48 Hours with BMW
Let's be clear off the top- I am not a "car guy." You're more likely to find me riding my bike, walking or TTC-ing around the city with camera in hand. But when @BMWCanada asked me to test out the new #6series for 48 hours and capture its unique features, I was up for it because I love a great challenge. I wanted to explore the quality and standard that I've heard sets BMW apart from the others.
The first day I wanted to get the hang of the car, so I drove out to Liberty Village, then hopped on the DVP, stopped over at Cherry beach and then finally headed to my old stomping grounds... East York. I had the windows down with Kendrick bumping through the impressive Harman Kardon speaker system. I stopped at each location, took a few photos and really got to know the car a bit better.
BMW 6series
Overall it was a smooth and safe ride, but you're always reminded of the car's 445-hp when you touch the gas. If I had another week, I'd love to take it out of the city for a nice, long ride down the 115. Although my experience with this car was brief, it's easy to see the incredible quality, passion and innovation immediately.
Thank you to @BMWCanada for the great opportunity. Take a look at some of the photos I documented while runnin' through the 6!

Soul Transportation Vol. 6 x @tahaphoto
A few months ago I had the pleasure of meeting the talented @djaysoulchild. He was interested in collaborating on his latest project entitled 'SOUL TRANSPORTATION'.
His concept was to find a photo of mine that best described the feel of Vol. 6, his latest mix. After going back and forth through email and phone we finally came to the conclusion that the "Walking in Rain" image would be the cover shot for Vol. 6.
I look to continue my relationship with DJAY SOULCHILD his musical selections on Vol. 6 have truly been inspiring, I feel they speak to my style of work.
This is #streetsoul x #soultransportation, enjoy!

Too Black Guys - Return of a Classic
“Inspired by the 'do for self' sentiment of early 90’s hip hop, Too Black Guys aimed to represent the black experience in an unapologetic way." - Adrian Aitcheson, Founder
The honesty and focus of those words above really resonated with me as I began brainstorming a visual story for the Too Black Guys brand. I had a few strong conversations with Adrian and we decided a monochrome, minimalist feel would keep the clothing at the forefront. In terms of locations I thought larger, symmetrical structures like the Gardiner Expressway would feel a bit futuristic and escort the brand into a new audience.
It was a true honour to work with this iconic Toronto brand and I look forward to future collaborations. Here are a few visuals of how the story played out.
